Congenital Heart Disease or a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) is an abnormality of the heart. This can mean the heart is incomplete, has missing parts, may be put together the wrong way, have holes between chamber partitions or may have narrow or leaky valves or leaky vessels.CHD is the most common birth defect- affecting 1 in 100 babies and is the leading cause of infant mortality.
